We are sincerely grateful to everyone who attended our in-person conference in Arlington, VA, on September 25, 2025. The event was a tremendous success, gathering FBI Subject Matter Experts, industry leaders, and enthusiasts to tackle pressing issues in global security threats. Our focus was on technology, innovation, and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into business strategies.

Throughout the day, attendees engaged in discussions that addressed vital topics in today’s rapidly changing environment. From foreign threats to AI applications in business, the insights shared were both enlightening and inspiring.

Key Highlights from the Conference

The conference featured several key sessions that provided valuable insights into current security challenges. Each session was designed to equip participants with knowledge and strategies to enhance their operations in the face of evolving threats.

Threats to the Private Sector Emanating from the People’s Republic of China

A major focus was on the threats that the People's Republic of China poses to the private sector. With global tensions escalating, businesses must recognize these dangers in our interconnected world.

Experts highlighted alarming statistics, such as the reported 90% increase in cyber espionage cases linked to state-sponsored actors over the past three years. They discussed key concerns like intellectual property theft, which costs U.S. companies an estimated $300 billion annually.

North Korea Remote IT Workers Threat Briefing

Another pivotal session addressed the challenges posed by remote IT workers from North Korea. This briefing informed attendees about significant risks tied to hiring remote professionals from areas lacking oversight and accountability.

The SME emphasized the importance of due diligence, recommending thorough background checks. Attendees learned how to identify warning signs, such as vague resumes or inconsistent employment histories that can indicate potential risks.

This session reinforced the need for vigilance during the hiring process, especially as remote work becomes increasingly common.

Panel: Private Sector Strategies to Mitigate the Remote Worker Threat

Our panel discussion explored effective strategies for addressing the risks associated with remote workers. Industry leaders shared firsthand experiences and best practices to create a secure remote work environment.

Some key strategies discussed included:

  • Implementing secure communication channels to prevent data breaches.

  • Conducting regular security training sessions for employees, which studies show can reduce security incidents by up to 70%.

  • Implementing identity validation processes throughout the employment process.

Panelists emphasized that a proactive approach is crucial for safeguarding sensitive information and maintaining operational integrity. Participants gained useful tools to enhance their remote work policies for companies, large or small, whether they have in-house security resources or not.

Panel: Integrating Agentic AI Into Your Business

With AI revolutionizing industries, our panel on integrating agentic AI into business practices was highly relevant. Experts discussed both the benefits and challenges of adopting AI technologies across various sectors.

Topics included ethical considerations, data privacy risks, and how to align AI projects with overarching business goals. Attendees left the session motivated to explore innovative uses of AI to improve efficiency while remaining aware of possible downsides. They emphasized the need to embed organizational and security governance from the beginning, allowing it to be scoped into the solution and scale as the solution grows.

This discussion ignited creativity and collaboration among participants, enriching the overall conference experience.

CISA Capabilities Briefing

A briefing from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) rounded out the conference. This session charted CISA's capabilities and resources available for the private sector, see link here.

Participants learned about the agency's role in enhancing national security and the necessity of collaboration between government entities and industry stakeholders. The briefing revealed various tools, such as the Cyber Hygiene program, which can help businesses strengthen their cybersecurity approach.

This session was particularly beneficial for those eager to comprehend the complexities of cybersecurity threats.

Networking / Social Hour

To wrap up the day, we hosted a networking and social hour. This informal gathering allowed participants to connect, discuss insights from the sessions, and share experiences.

The networking hour was a standout moment of the conference, cultivating a sense of community among professionals dedicated to advancing global security and AI strategies.
