May the 4th be with you!

It's May!...And only one day short of May the 4th be with you!

So with that in mind I wanted to take this opportunity to talk a little bit about "the FORCE" of InfraGardNCR, our programming and our recent INLETS program.

Often in our world, people are resistant to change. The events of September 11thushered in an era where a lot of our practices were taken to task, particularly that of sharing information. We just didn't do it. Since 9/11, our government and the private sector has taken great strides toward sharing information - but unfortunately we still have a long way to go.

One "FORCE" for information sharing that InfraGardNCR has supported is On the INLETS - an expanding Intel and Law Enforcement Training Seminar that serves as a conduit from federal resources and experience to state and local agencies and stakeholder industries. The goal is to connect those charged with protecting our communities with the information to help them do so.

I had the honor of joining the most recent INLETS in New Orleans, LA - to hear from

the French police on the bombings in Paris, the FBI agents from the San Bernadino terrorist attacks, the law enforcement managing police ambushes across America, and much more. The room was filled with the highest level of law enforcement from Louisiana and surrounding states, all actively listening and learning about how they can protect their communities against the next attack.

Why is INLETS important to InfraGardNCR?

As our trainings in cyber awareness, threats, and risks educate each of you, our work with On the INLETS shares vital information with those who need it. It is core to our mission: to share information between the public and private sector to protect the nation's infrastructure. INLETS is by far the most comprehensive look at the threats to our infrastructure, and to our citizens, available.

Why is INLETS important to our FBI partners?

Knowing what to look for, creating a solid team, and sharing information, are all parts of the whole of what is needed to prevent the next terrorist attack. Beyond the PR of "partnering with industry," INLETS provides the FBI with educated, smarter, state and local partners with whom to share information and recognize threats before they become an aftermath.

In June, we will be hosting the next INLETS in Annapolis, Maryland. If you are a security/risk/safety professional, I invite you to join us and find out why this is such an important event to both law enforcement and the private sector. I also invite you to join us to meet the law enforcement folks in our region working to protect your assets. Learn more and join us here: http://midatlanticinlets.com/wordpress/annapolis/

With gratitude,

Kristina
